GNM is an India-based digital publisher of news and current affairs. This Code sets out the standards our editors, reporters and contributors work to. It should be read with our Editorial Policy, Correction Policy and Grievance Redressal Policy.

Accuracy and Verification
We make reasonable efforts to verify information before publication. Where claims are disputed, we aim to present the relevant evidence and perspectives clearly and responsibly. Citizen submissions are verified and editorially reviewed before publication.
Independence
GNM is not created to support or oppose any political party, government, institution or ideology. Advertising, sponsorship and commercial relationships do not determine our editorial decisions. Sponsored or commercial material is identified as such.
Fairness and Distinction of Formats
We distinguish factual reporting from analysis, opinion and commentary, and we aim to provide multiple perspectives rather than a single narrative.
Privacy and Sources
We respect privacy and do not publish private or sensitive information without a lawful basis. Where appropriate and legally permissible, we protect the identity of contributors and sources.
Use of AI
AI may assist our teams with research, drafting, translation, summarisation and search. AI-assisted material is not treated as verified journalism. Final verification, editorial judgment and publication decisions remain with human editors.
Corrections and Accountability
When we get something wrong, we correct it in line with our Correction Policy. Complaints are handled under our Grievance Redressal Policy.
Legal Framework
GNM observes the Code of Ethics and grievance-redressal framework applicable to publishers of news and current affairs under Part III of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
