GNM aims to report stories that matter to people and help audiences understand not only what happened, but why it matters.
We cover India, World Affairs, Geopolitics, Business, Technology & AI, Science, Defence, Education, Sports, Culture, Climate, Society and emerging global issues, along with explainers, interviews, special reports and documentaries.
Our approach is to provide facts, context and multiple perspectives, rather than simply following a single narrative.
India, Asia & the Global South
India sits at an important intersection of Asia and the Global South. GNM wants to use this position to explore how developments are understood from the region and how countries of the Global South are contributing to the changing world.
We ask:
How does the world look from the Global South, and how is the Global South shaping the world?
Our coverage therefore looks beyond borders and seeks stories from India, Asia, Africa, Latin America and other parts of the Global South, alongside developments from Europe, North America and the wider world.

GNM is not created to simply support or oppose any political party, government, institution or ideology.
Our editorial aim is to inform, question, investigate and explain.
We believe journalism should be guided by:

Public: Your Story, Your Voice
GNM will also provide a dedicated Public platform through which citizens can submit news, photographs, videos and ground reports.
Citizen submissions go through appropriate verification and editorial review before publication. This gives people an opportunity to bring important ground-level stories to a wider audience while maintaining editorial standards.
Everyone can report. Every story must be verified.
UPSC Special
GNM also features a dedicated UPSC Special vertical for civil services aspirants, connecting current affairs with deeper understanding of issues relevant to the examination.
It includes current affairs, explainers, policy developments, international affairs, economy, environment, science & technology, governance and other UPSC-relevant topics.
Technology, AI & Languages
GNM combines journalism with modern technology.
AI may assist our editorial teams with research support, drafting, language assistance, translation, summarisation, SEO and search, while editorial responsibility and final publication decisions remain with human editors.
Our vision is to make GNM accessible across English, Hindi and other Indian languages, with future multilingual expansion including French, German, Russian, Italian and Hebrew.
Building the Next Generation of Journalism
GNM also aims to create opportunities for university students and emerging journalists to learn reporting, verification, research and responsible digital journalism.
