PM Modi to Release 24th PM-KISAN Instalment Worth ₹18,690 Crore on October 30

NEW DELHI, October 29, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to release the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Friday, October 30, during an event in Banaskantha district, Gujarat. More than ₹18,690 crore will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of over 9.34 crore eligible farmer beneficiaries across the country.

The announcement comes as the government continues its efforts to provide financial assistance to farming households and strengthen agricultural infrastructure. The instalment release is part of the Prime Minister’s two-day visit to Gujarat on October 30 and 31.

According to the announced programme, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will participate in a separate event marking the release of the instalment in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh.

Farmers to Receive ₹2,000 Each

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible landholding farmer families receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each. The amount is transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

With the release of the 24th instalment, the government will continue a programme that has disbursed more than ₹4.47 lakh crore through its first 23 instalments, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

The scheme aims to supplement farmers’ financial needs and help them meet agricultural and household expenses. The assistance can support expenditure on seeds, fertilisers and other farming requirements, although beneficiaries decide how to use the funds.

521 Agriculture Infrastructure Fund Units to Be Dedicated

Alongside the PM-KISAN disbursement, the Prime Minister will dedicate 521 units established under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) to the nation.

The initiative is intended to strengthen agricultural storage, processing and related infrastructure. Such facilities can help improve post-harvest management, reduce losses and support better handling of agricultural produce.

Investment in warehouses, cold storage facilities, processing centres and other infrastructure is important for improving farmers’ access to markets and strengthening the agricultural supply chain.

The government has also announced the inauguration of 12 horticulture clusters to encourage the production of high-value crops and improve income opportunities for farmers. These clusters are expected to support crop diversification and strengthen horticultural value chains.

What Beneficiaries Should Check Before the Instalment

Farmers expecting the payment should verify their beneficiary status through the official PM-KISAN portal. The government has made electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) verification mandatory for registered beneficiaries.

Farmers should also check whether their Aadhaar details, bank account information and land records are correctly updated and verified. Incomplete e-KYC or discrepancies in beneficiary records may affect the processing of payments.

The release of the instalment does not necessarily mean that every registered farmer will receive the money, as eligibility conditions and verification requirements continue to apply.

Beneficiaries can visit the official website, https://pmkisan.gov.in/ to check their status and access scheme-related services.

Government Focuses on Agricultural Development

The PM-KISAN instalment release is part of a broader programme of agricultural initiatives planned during the Prime Minister’s Gujarat visit. The government has highlighted direct financial assistance, infrastructure development and horticulture promotion as key areas of focus.

The measures are intended to provide income support to eligible farming households while strengthening facilities for agricultural storage, processing and marketing.

The scheduled transfer of more than ₹18,690 crore will mark the next instalment in the government’s ongoing income-support programme for farmers across India.

Subheading: More than 9.34 crore eligible farmer families are expected to benefit from the direct bank transfer. The Prime Minister will also dedicate 521 Agriculture Infrastructure Fund units and inaugurate 12 horticulture clusters in Gujarat.
